Maximilian Becker new head of BASF’s vegetable seeds business

Maximilian Becker (36), Managing Director of BASF Portuguesa will take the lead of BASF’s global vegetable seeds business as Senior Vice President, operating in the market under the Nunhems® brand. As of October 1, 2022, he will succeed the current head, Vicente Navarro (61) who retires after 37 years of dedication to this business.

For so many years he has shaped not only our business but also the vegetable seeds industry,” said Maximilian Becker. “I look forward to working with an excellent and experienced team and continue dedicating all our efforts to pursue our business purpose – making healthy eating enjoyable and sustainable. I truly believe this business has a tremendous future in providing solutions to one of the world’s most relevant topic: healthy nutrition”. 

Maximilian Becker was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 1986. He studied Economics and Law at the EBS University in Wiesbaden, Germany and at INSEAD Fontainebleau, France. He holds a Master in International Business from ESADE, Barcelona, Spain. Maximilian Becker joined BASF in 2013. He has worked in several positions in BASF's Nutrition & Health division, leading strategic projects and as Chief of Staff to a Board Member. Since 2018 he is Managing Director of BASF Portuguesa Lda., Lisbon and Head of Country Management Agricultural Solutions in Portugal. Before starting his career at BASF, Maximilian Becker gathered experience in Consulting companies.
