Our suppliers

We not only optimize our own operations, we also make sure that our suppliers follow the same principles. We regularly monitor and check how sustainable our suppliers act and whether they comply with our expectations. All of our suppliers are currently undergoing sustainability evaluations. We committed ourselves to carry out these evaluations for 90 percent of our relevant spend by 2025 and to ensure that 80 percent of our suppliers will have improved their sustainability upon reevaluation in 2025. We are applying the BASF Supplier Code of Conduct and so far, all suppliers that have been already reviewed met the criteria.

For our seed and non seed suppliers world-wide, we developed our own approach and defined para-meters specific to the vegetable seeds business. For our non-seeds suppliers we also implement a company-wide risk-based management & monitoring system for responsible seed sourcing and evolve the current program into a global policy and mature child labor prevention program approach.
